Lost Gems 8: A Boy and His Blob

So sorry for having a few months on inactiveness but I am back. And today at GVN we are going to have a look back at one of the oddest and most original games released for the Nintendo Entertainment System, A Boy and His Blob. A game that as the years passed, more and more people became aware of this game but still forgot about.

9.15.2007

News from the graveyard.

I'm not gone I am still around. I haven't been around the past 3 weeks because it was crunch time. I got married two fridays ago(Sept 7th). Anyway things have settled down somewhat and I will return to setting up the last GVN event of the year, actually write up my next lost gems article and get back to work on GVN as a whole.

6.01.2007

Small update.

The Mid Summer bash has been moved back to Saturday August 4th and Virtua Fighter 5 and Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection has been added.

5.19.2007

Small update for the June 2D Mania.

There are a couple of small changes I wish to address about the June 23rd 2D fighters tournament. First after talking with the heads of VR we have agreed to let them take 10% of the pot for each tournament which will allow us to continue having a low venue fee of $7.

Also I want to mention that we have added a game to the roster. King Of Fighters Neowave for the Xbox has been added and will have an entry fee of $5 and will start at 7pm.

Another minor note, there may be an inclusion of a 2 on 2 tournament for 3S and a couple of other games. I am still trying to work this out with some of the helpful members of the Shoryuken community.

Anymore updates will be posted. Thank you for your time.

5.14.2007

News from the graveyard...

Yes I am still alive and well. First an update on last Saturday's tournament. Okay, there wasn't a tournament. It was cencelled due to a lack of attendance and because I had it on the same day as NEPA. But I want to thank the 6 guys that showed up and hung out for awhile.

Now onto some news. I am on my dad's vista PC. Why? Well my pc blew up and I need to buy a new one. Hopefully my hard drive survived. Once I get a new one I will start work on our next podcast.

In the mean time I am going to work on my next lost gems, The Castle of Dr. Brain. It will be up by the end of the week. Hopefully. In the mean time, please stick around and get your engines reved up for the 2D fighters mania tournament in June.

5.04.2007

Date change and A New Tournament Announcement!

First off I want to let you know that the 2D fighter mania tournament has been moved from June 16th to the 23rd. The reason is because I have to take a first time home buyer class. Buying a house takes precedence.

Now onto the next main event. The next Tournament to be held is the GVN Dead Or Alive Mid-Summer Bash.

The Mid-Summer Bash will be held Saturday July 21st, 2007 at the Virtual Rush Cyber Cafe in Media, PA. In the Granite Run Mall Parking Lot.

There will be a Regular and Tag Team(singles) Tournament. If participation turns out much better than expected, then team tag will be considered.

Registration will be at 12pm. The show will begin at 2pm. Show up at least an hour early for registration.

Directions via train and bus from Center city Philly.

Take the R3 train towards Media/Elwyn. Hop off the train at Elwyn station. Walk to the bus stop and take the northbound 117 bus. The next stop is to the granite run mall. Get off at the mall and walk to the AMC theatre. Virtual Rush is located behind the AMC theatre.

Good news. I may have either an Apartment or a house by July so there is a chance that I might be able to house a few. I will ask if Kchan will be happy to help out as well. Stay tuned.
